SQ635 SIN-HND 0645 Arrival Transfer to Karuizawa. Overnight Karuizawa 3 star hotel
A spectacular highland loops showcasing the dramatic landscapes around Karuizawa & the foothills of Mt Asama. Enjoy sweeping views of volcanic ridge lines & forested slopes, long open vistas and cool alpine air. A descent into a valley through wooded roads and a strong climbing finish back into the highlands for panoramic views and scenic ridgeline roads. Overnight Karuizawa 3 star hotel.
Our classic queen stage of the tour: scenic, challenging & memorable. Begin with gentle undulations through rural valleys and forested foothills. Then a sustained climb to the highest point of Japan's national roads at 2,000m elevation. Soak in spectacular vistas across volcanic landscapes & layered mountain ranges. The ride ends with an exhilarating descent at Kusatsu, a popular traditional hot spring town. Overnight Kusatsu, 4 star traditional ryokan.
Riding from Kusatsu, we kick off with a beautiful sustained descent with sweeping bends and expansive views across the volcanic plateau around Mt Asama. A rolling middle section precedes a long steady climb to finish our alpine finish. Overnight Karuizawa 4 star resort.
Kicking off our final ride, we transit from lush, high-altitude forests to the rugged open slopes of Mt Asama volcano. A mid-ride ascent peaks at 1,700m offering panoramic views of the surrounding Japanese Alps and the smoking crater of Asama. A thrilling descent toward the historical post-town of Komoro, then a scenic traverse through rolling highlands and quaint mountain villages, concluding with a steady final climb back to the forested outskirts of Karuizawa.
